Pakistan’s Haider Ali wins bronze at Paralympics 2016

RIO DE JANEIRO (Web Desk) – Pakistani Athlete Haider Ali successfully bagged Bronze medal at the Rio Paralympics 2016 here on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old all-rounder athlete won the first Bronze medal for the country this year at the men’s long jump category by managing a distance of 6.28 metres.

China’s Shang Guangxu stood victorious with 6.77 making a world record at the Paralympic Games while  Brazil’s Mateus Evangelista Cardoso made it to second place with 6.53 metres

The star athlete also shared the joy on his social media account after winning Bronze. Ali in his Facebook status wrote: “I won the bronze medal, thanks to Allah.”

Haider, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy, had stood second by covering a record distance of 6.44 metres at the China 2008 Games.
