Policeman gunned down in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI – A policeman was shot dead in a targeted attack by unidentified assailants within the limits of the Airport police jurisdiction in Rawalpindi, here on Sunday.

Police officials said the martyred policeman, identified as constable Mohammad Siddiq, was returning to his quarter after his duty finished when unidentified attackers opened fire on him.

The police official received seven bullet wounds and died on the spot, officials stated. His body was transported to a hospital for post-mortem.

Police said the deceased was a native of Shakargarh, Punjab. Investigations into the brutal murder have been launched.
