ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawmakers on Wednesday donated Rs 20 million, which they had received as salary during last year’s five-month-long sit-in, to Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.
The PTI lawmakers had remained submitted their resignations in August 2014 demanding a judicial inquiry into alleged rigging in 2013’s elections and remained absent from parliament till January 2015 when they returned to National and Provincial Assemblies after a successful dialogue with government.
Upon their return they were paid the ceased salaries of five months. However PTI chairman Imran Khan announced to donate these salaries to relief fund when analysts criticized his party for receiving salaries of these months.
Fulfilling the promise after another six months the PTI lawmakers have donated their salaries to Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund while PTI head Imran Khan has submitted his salary to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital (SKMH)
