PESHAWAR – In a tragic turn of events, a policeman lost his life after being shot at by armed assailants in Peshawar on Friday.
According to the details, armed terrorists opened fire at a police vehicle at Tehkal area of Peshawar due to which a police personnel named Mazhar was killed whereas his partner sustained bullet injuries.
One of the terrorists was shot dead in the retaliatory fire.
Superintendent police Cantt Imran said that the area was cordoned off and a Bomb Disposal Unit was called to the crime scene.
The bomb squad examined the dead body and cleared the area.
Following the incident, police launched a search operation in Tehkal and its surrounding areas. The security in the city has already been beefed up.
