Sindh to establish provincial accountability commission

KARACHI (Staff Report) – Sindh government on Thursday decided to establish a provincial accountability commission in a bid to speed up the process of accountability.

According to a statement the chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has asked provincial law ministry to take measurements for establishing the commission.

The provincial government has been under a continuous pressure to take steps against alleged corruption in different department since Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Sindh Rangers held several officials on charges of financial irregularities.

Earlier Khyber Pakhutkhwa (KPK) government has established a provincial accountability commission to curb corrupt practices in KPK. The commission arrested provincial minister Ziaulah Afridi on corruption charges this year.
