LAHORE – A ban has been imposed on motorcycle riders entering Lahore city without wearing helmets, it emerged on Wednesday.
The decision has also been made to restrict motorcycle riders without helmets from using several main roads, including Mall Road, Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, Canal Road, and Main Boulevard. To implement the orders, special checkpoints have been established on these roads.
Furthermore, traffic wardens have been deployed at entry and exit points of Lahore, including Shaukat Khanum, Lake City, and Adda Plot.
The City Traffic Police said riders will also be fined for hanging helmets on their arms or placing them on the motorcycle fuel tank.
The CTO of Lahore has stated that motorcycle riders without helmets will be fined Rs2,000.
