Shocking revelations in Swat lynching of tourist Salman Ahmad surface online

Charged mob swarmed on police station in Swat region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where they assaulted a man to death and later set his body on fire. The police lodged two FIRs following the lynching of a man accused of desecrating the Holy Quran in Madyan, but no arrests have been made yet.

Days after the horrific incident, several journalists came up with different stories about the incident. A local journalist said the man checked in at the local hotel on second day of Eidul Adha. He mentioned investigating about the man from local vendors who described him as reserved, as he used to stay in his room most of the time.

The journalist then sheds light on some other people who stayed in adjoining rooms, saying they were first to report about slightly burned pages of the Holy Quran which were found on the balcony. These people checked in on the same day when Salman arrived in the hotel.

He said these people who hailed from Punjab, then approached the hotel manager and all the people told cops about the incident. Officers took the man to local police station in Madyan, and the locals were quick to catch the air of the news.

The mob stormed the police station, set it and the suspect’s body on fire, marking the second blasphemy-related lynching in recent weeks.

The suspect, identified as Mohammed Suleman from Sialkot, reportedly denied the allegations during police custody.

Videos of the incident showed the violent aftermath, with multiple vehicles torched in police station.
