APML will take part in LB polls: Musharraf

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Former president and army chief Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf has announced that his party, All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), will take part in local bodies’ election.

Addressing a session of APML’s Central Executive Committee in Karachi on Sunday, the former president expressed his hope that his party would win the local bodies’ election. He also stressed the need of party restructuring at the grass-roots level, terming it vital for party’s progress.

Pervez Musharraf, who has remained calm and quiet for a long time, has decided to be active in politics with his decision of taking part in the local bodies’ polls. Hinting towards midterm elections, he said that Pakistan was always his first preference and he wanted to do good and positive politics for its development.

He lamented over the bad situation of the country, owing to the incompetence of rulers pushing Pakistan towards destruction. “Only the good politics can save the country,” he added.
