KASUR (Web Desk) – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif reached Kasur on Sunday to meet the family of Hafiz Naeem who was lynched by the mob after the Youhanabad incident.
However, security was tightened up on the arrival of the chief minister.
Shahabaz Sharif met the families of victims and assured them of justice.
Praying for the departed souls, the CM stated that those who burned people alive did not deserve any mercy. He added that the case of Hafiz Naeem would be tried in Anti Terrorism Court (ATC).
The chief minister gave a cheque of Rs 0.5 million as financial assistance to the heirs of the deceased.
He further stated that several people involved in vandalism and violence in the Youhanabad incident have been arrested and will be brought to justice.
Demanding justice from the CM, Naeem’s family said that he was innocent and never committed any crime.
