Shehreyar Afridi dodges question on land grabbing and murder by family members

ISLAMABAD – Minister of State for Interior Shereyar Afridi faced a tough time on Thursday as he faced a barrage of questions concerning his brother and brother-in-law.

Afridi was leaving a gathering in the capital when multiple reporters chased him and asked whether his brother was involved in land-grabbing or not.

Afridi, who did not stop to respond to the questions, was also asked by the reporters about the allegations of murder against his brother-in-law.

In a video uploaded on social media, one of the reporters can also be heard citing Nighat Afridi’s allegations in this regard, however, the minister did not bother to respond to the allegations.

The minister, who is spearheading the drive against encroachments in the capital, was also reminded that media was the fourth pillar of the state and so the queries pitched by the reporters should be responded, however, Afridi kept moving flocked by his staff.

In a recent video uploaded on social media, Night Afridi alleged that his husband was murdered in Kohat on November 1997 during a jirga held by Nadir Shah, the father of Shehreyar Afridi.

‘The murder was committed by the brother-in-law of Shehreyar Afridi in front of everyone,’ pleaded the lady who asked the Army Chief to intervene and help resolve the matter.

The woman also claimed that Afridi’s brother was involved in land-grabbing for which he asked the relevant authorities to take stern action.
