NEW YORK – Pakistan permanent representative to United Nations Maleeha Lodhi has said that Pakistan is among the top 10 generous nations in the world.
Pakistan is among the top 10 charity giving nations in the world . But there is tremendous difference between our state capacity and the needs of the people.Therefore, the upper class should play their role in helping under privileged people, she said this while addressing a seminar of charity unit here on Monday.
Lodhi went on to say that, ‘to provide basic necessities of life to their citizens is the first and foremost obligation of the state but unfortunately we have less state affordability and more public necessities due to which class difference between upper and lower section of society has been increasing day by day which will overall prove to be destructive for the whole society.
Pakistan is amongst the world’s top 10 countries which do most charity that is a proof of our nation who wanted to help out poor section of society.
In the present circumstances, the real success is to bring a change in the life of a guy who belongs to a marginalized class and this is need of hour,” She said.
There should be no undue criticism against those who are helping the poor section as criticism is the basic right of every citizen but it should be used in a constructive way not for demoralizing others.
If anybody has desired to bring a change then it can be started from a house, Muhallah or community at first, she added.
