Ready to respond to misadventure from India, affirms COAS Gen Bajwa

GILGIT – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa said the armed forces of the country were ready to respond to any misadventure from India, given the situation in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The military chief visited the formation headquarters at Gilgit on Saturday and addressed the formation officers and troops.

In an interaction with the soldiers, Gen Bajwa appreciated their state of readiness and morale, despite the demanding challenges of difficult weather, harsh terrain, and the enemy at the highest battlefield of the world.

“We are alive to threat from Eastern Border linked to the ongoing situation in IOJ&K and fully prepared to thwart any misadventure or aggression,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, quoted him as saying.

During his visit, the COAS also laid a floral wreath at the martyrs’ monument.
