Petrol, Diesel Prices likely to drop again in Pakistan from Oct 1

ISLAMABAD – A fifth cut on petrol, and diesel is expected from October 1, 2024, amid changes in global oil rates.

Reports shared in local media said there will be a considerable reduction in inflation — which now hovers around single digits— further paving the way for this anticipated cut in fuel prices.

Besides domestic factors, the international oil market continues to witness downward trend in prices over weak demand. Brent crude oil plunged by 48 cents to $72.27 while US crude oil prices also saw a reduction of 37 cents.

These developments are poised to bring relief to consumers, as the government prepares to adjust fuel prices in response to the evolving economic landscape.
