QUETTA — At least people including a policeman suffered injuries in a strong blast that occurred near a police vehicle on the Eastern Bypass.
Reports in local media said the explosion was apparently caused by a remote-controlled device hidden in a motorcycle parked nearby.
The explosion severely damaged the police vehicle and a nearby rickshaw, sending shockwaves through the area. Police and Resucue officials quickly rushed to the site, and shifted the injured to a local medical facility, where one person is reported to be in critical condition.
The area has been off the area and initiated an investigation into the incident. As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and law enforcement agencies are working diligently to identify those responsible.
