Accountability being carried out without discrimination: Governor Punjab

LAHORE – Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is working efficiently to address the public issues under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and adopting the policy of zero tolerance on corruption.

The accountability process was being carried out without discrimination as per the PTI’s election manifesto, he said while talking to a private news channel.

The governor said the ongoing corruption cases against the leaders of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) were registered by them against each other during their respective governments.

He said the menace of corruption choked the development process of the country, particularly in education, health and other sectors. The PTI government, he added, had adopted zero-tolerance policy against corruption in all the national institutions.

To a question, he said the PTI government after coming into power had taken steps for addressing the genuine issues of minorities.

To another question about postings and transfers, Sarwar said it was the prerogative of the federal government to have eligible officials at the helm of affairs. The government was trying to place the right man at right job, he added.

The governor said it was the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan to depoliticize all the national institutions so that they should discharge their official duties in a befitting manner.
