Ali Raza Abidi's security guard reveals details about assassination
KARACHI - The security guard of slain former lawmaker Ali Raza Abidi has detailed how the politician was assassinated in the metropolis admitting that he was not able to retaliate.

Abdul Qadeer, who was deputed at the house of Abidi, stated before the law enforcers that he assumed the duty at the house of former MQM member 55 days before the tragic incident happened.

'I used to perform duty from 7 PM for 12 hours,' said Qadeer.

He revealed that Abidi did not use to honk the horn while returning home and as he was opening the door of the house, he heard gunshots.

'I was not able to see anyone, however, I tried to open fire at the attackers,' added Qadeer but admitted that despite attempts he was not able to fire back at the motorcycle riding assailants.

Qadeer detailed that after the attackers fled away, he saw Ali Raza Abidi tilted to one side with blood spilling from his neck.

When asked as to why he was not able to fire back, Qadeer replied that they did not use to check the gun by opening fire, however, checked it before handing over to the other security guards.
