RAWALPINDI – PTI founder Imran Khan has decided to cancel the Rawalpindi rally scheduled for September 28.
During an informal conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, the PTI founder stated that instead of holding a rally on the 28th, they will stage a protest. He announced that they are withdrawing their request from the Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench.
He said they know that permission for the rally will not be granted, and if it is, it will be outside the city. Instead of a rally, they will hold a strong protest in Rawalpindi on Saturday, and their lawyers will also protest outside the Supreme Court tomorrow.
He added that he has never met Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and mentioned that the constitution states the senior-most justice should be appointed as Chief Justice, with only one month left until the announcement of the Chief Justice’s name.
