KASHMIR (Web Desk) – The curfew imposed in Indian occupied Kashmir has entered 50th day amid growing fears regarding shortage of food in the valley.
Situation in the area worsened after the killing of fighter Burhan Wani. Large scale demonstrations by the Kashmiris pushed authorities to thrash out a plan for resolution of the conflict, but nothing substantial has been done so far to mitigate the crises.
On Friday, demonstrations were staged against Indian oppression. Protestors took to streets after the Jummah Prayer to raise voice against the brutalities, the residents are braving. They chanted anti-India slogans.
Markets, offices and schools are closed down in the area. Internet service has also been put to cease resulting in total isolation of the residents. The death toll has already swelled to 68.
Renowned Hurriyat leaders who vowed to extend protests to next month have been put under house arrest. Despite serious concerns shown by the international community, the Modi administration has failed to tackle the situation.
