India test fires nuclear-capable Agni-I missile

NEW DELHI (Web Desk) – India on Friday successfully test fired the nuclear-capable Agni-I missile in Odish during the ongoing Strategic Forces Command (SFC) training exercise, The Hindu reported.

The surface-to-surface missile can hit a target up to a range of 700km.

Agni-I is accompanied by sophisticated navigation system and was fired from a mobile launcher.

The missile has weight of 12 tonnes, the 15-metre-long structure and can carry payload of more than one tonne nuclear explosive material.

The strike range of Agni-I can further be extended by reducing the payload of explosive material.
