ISLAMABAD – Former secretary general of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Jahangir Tareen is convening the official meetings at the Prime Minister Secretariat in Islamabad, it has been learnt.
Tareen, who was disqualified in December last year on the directives of the supreme court, attended a meeting on September 13th titled ‘Livestock emergency working group’ as per the official minutes available to Daily Pakistan.
Tareen acted as a convener in the huddle along with representatives from the public and private list and the agenda of the meeting was to develop a concrete plant to deliver on the Prime Minister’s commitment to ‘Revamp Livestock Sector’ under the ‘Uplift agriculture and conserve water’ theme of the 100-days agenda.
Former secretary livestock, Nasim Sadiq also briefed the attendees of the meeting.
When the Special Assistant to the PM on Media Affairs, Iftikhar Durrani was asked about the presence of Tareen in the official meeting, he claimed to have no knowledge of such a development.
Moreover, sources close to Tareen were also unaware of the matter. However, the official minutes of the meeting have laid bare the tall claims of ruling party about not taking inputs from any individuals convicted by courts.

In one of the interviews, PTI chief and incumbent premier, Imran Khan had clarified that if the court convicts himself or any member of the party he will be ‘kicked out of the party’.
Jahangir Tareen’s disqualification was upheld by the supreme court on Thursday as a three-member bench dismissed his review petition.
