KARACHI (Web Desk) – A common man, who raised voice against the VIP culture in the country has been booked in an FIR following a gap of almost eight months, local TV channel Samaa reported on on Tuesday.
Arjumand Azahar Hussain, former Gerry’s Group General Manager and currently Samaa TV’s show ‘Aam Admi’s’ anchorperson, brought to the fore a video of offloading from a plane that kept Rehman Malik and Ramesh Kumar on the tenterhooks for long.
The incident took place on September 15, 2014 when Arjumand turned away the two MNAs from the plane for keeping the passengers waiting. After a hiatus of nearly eight months, an FIR has been lodged on April 7 against him for rioting and tendering threats.
The lawmakers joined forces to safeguard their own vested VIP Culture as National Assembly Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges had earlier decided to drag the ‘Aam Admi’s’ host only because he became the voice of common man.
Azhar is facing this condemnable persecution because he had shamed the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Member National Assembly Ramaish Kumar and Pakistan People’s Party Senator Rehman Malik for forcing to wait a Pakistan International Airlines flight for two hours because both of them were late.
The plaintiff, Baqir Noorani, revealed that the PIA lodged the case at the behest of the government, adding at the time the FIR was registered, he was at home.
Noorani furthermore clarified his position saying, “I am currently on vacations prior to my retirement.”
