Apple delays launch of cheapest 6.1-inch iPhone out of three proposed roll outs

CA – US tech giant, Apple is expected to launch three new iPhones – a 5.8-inch iPhone X successor, a 6.5-inch Plus version and a cheapest 6.1-inch at an event next month.

According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the 6.1-inch cheapest iPhone may only be available in October, because of issues with its production schedule. The other two devices should be out in late September. The 6.1″ and 6.5″ iPhones will both get dual-SIM capable variants in some markets.

Furthermore, this year’s iPhones will not support the Apple pencil stylus because it simply wouldn’t be a good experience to use it. On the other hand, split-screen multitasking may be a go for the biggest model.

The 6.5″ model might be launched at $999, which means the successor to the iPhone X will probably be $100 cheaper than its original variant.

The display on 6.1-inch (cheapest version) is an LCD screen instead of AMOLED, and an aluminum frame instead of stainless steel.

All three iPhones will feature wireless charging, along with Face ID and the display notch. The 6.1-inch budget version will only have a single rear camera. All will use the gesture system introduced last year for the iPhone X.

Alongside the new iPhones, the Cupertino based company will also unveil AirPods, AirPower wireless charger, Apple Watch series 4 and a new generation iPad Pro.

The Apple Watch will have a bigger display in the same overall size, while the iPads will have 11″ and 12.9″ screens, with slimmer bezels and Face ID, will replace Home button and fingerprint sensor.
