State Bank announces interest rate at 5.75

KARACHI – State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has decided to keep the current 5.75 percent interest rate unchanged for the next two months.

Announcing monetary policy in Karachi on Saturday, SBP Governor Ashraf Mahmood Wathra said that energy and economic conditions of the country have improved. The governor said all economic indicators are positive.

He said that imports have increased by 1.2 percent, which will boost production of the country. He added that exports will have to be increased to control the remittances deficit, Radio Pakistan reported.
