UK offers assistance to Pakistan in handling earthquake aftermath

LONDON (Web Desk) – British Minister for Pakistan Tobias Ellwood has said that the United Kingdom is ready to provide assistance to Pakistan in handling the aftermath of the Monday’s earthquake that has claimed over 250 lives and damaged more than 2500 houses.

In an interview, he said that Pakistan has not made any formal request for assistance so far, however United Kingdom stands prepared to support its ally Pakistan in combating the natural calamity.

On the occasion he also appreciated the efforts made by government and armed forces of Pakistan to restore law and order in the country. The country’s economy is improving as the security situation has improved dramatically, he said.
