LHC orders PCB to pay Qaddafi Stadium property tax

LAHORE (Staff Report) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday ordered Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to pay property tax against Qaddafi Stadium as the board has been generating revenue from the hotels and shops located inside and around the stadium.

LHC, in its verdict, said only those properties are enjoy the tax immunity that are in government’s control where PCB has leased the stadium since 2002. Additionally the court declared that Qaddafi stadium is a commercial property instead of a playground.

Earlier PCB was issued a tax notice of worth rupees 0.7 million by the officials, however, the board had challenged it in LHC.
