LAHORE – Lahore experienced heavy rainfall, causing severe waterlogging in several low-lying areas across the metropolis on Saturday.
Key areas like Multan Road, Chung, Mohlanwal, Nishtar Park Sports Complex, Township, Model Town, Green Town, PECO Road, Ferozepur Road, Muslim Town, and Lower Mall were submerged due to torrential rain.
Waterlogging were also seen in Zarish Shaheed Road, Dharampura, Harbanspura, Bahar Shah Road, Altaf Colony, and Al-Faisal Colony. Khawaja Ahmed Hassan Road and Tajpura Scheme were among the worst affected, with streets completely underwater.
Met Office warned of more intermittent rainfall throughout the day. Residents are advised to exercise caution and avoid waterlogged areas.
As per PMD advisory, strong monsoon currents from Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea are penetrating the upper & central region.
It said Rain-wind, thundershower is likely in Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Khushab, Noorpur Thal, Sargodha, Nankana Sahib, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Chenot, Sahiwal, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Vehari, Pakpattan, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, Layyah, Multan, Khanewal and Dera Ghazi Khan.
