CUPERTINO — US tech giant Apple has unveiled the updated version of its most popular MacBook Air with thinner, lighter design and Retina display.
The new MacBook Air features a 13.3-inch Retina Display with the resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, 50% narrower bezels than its predecessor, and a modern-looking design that has glass coverage up to the edges.
The new laptop is made from recycled aluminium and has 17% less volume, 10% thinner at 15.6 mm, and it weighs just 2.75 pounds than the older model.
The screen can show 48% more colour, and the FaceTime camera is still at the top.
The SoC on the new MacBook Air is 8th generation dual-core Intel Core i5, up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1.5TB of SSD.
The laptop has Touch ID, which is enabled by the T2 chip that’s inside the MacBook Air. The keyboard is a 4th generation butterfly type, that Apple says is more precise and responsive than ever. Its keys are individually backlit.
The trackpad is now Force Touch, with 20% more surface area. The speakers are 25% louder and come with two times the bass of the new laptop’s predecessor.
Users can get 3 Thunderbolt ports in MacBook Pro, through which they can connect 5K display and eGPU.
The MacBook Air will be released on November 7 and prices start at $1,199; the devices will be available in three colours – Gold, Space Gray, and Silver.
