NADRA s online CNIC renewal facility inaugurated

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Monday inaugurated the online renewal of Computerized National Identity Cards (CNIC) of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) after which nobody needs to visit NADRA office for this purpose.

The interior minister, while addressing the ceremony, said a tracking system has been introduced in NADRA through which one can know the status of one’s CNIC. He said a citizen will only have to come to NADRA office to for bio-metric verification while acquiring CNIC for the first time.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said NADRA is going to establish a DNA laboratory in next six months, which will facilitate all the law enforcement agencies to carry out investigation of cases. He added the authority will introduce 13 next generation business centers of international standards to facilitate the masses in next six to seven months.

He said services of NDARA have improved a lot and thousands of fake identity cards have so far been blocked. He wished to make NADRA a transparent and corruption free organization.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said we are going to centralize the entire data to end corruption and to ensure online verification of identity cards. He said NADRA has earned profit of five billion rupees. He said there was backlog of 650,000, but now it has become zero within six months. He lauded the hard work of NADRA employees to end backlog and to make the organization profitable institution.

After the news conference, while giving answers to the media persons, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said Pakistan Army is a disciplined and professional force and Army Chief General Raheel Sharif is the most professional soldier and enjoys confidence of the entire nation.  He urged media persons and the nation to stand by the army as we are in a state of war.

To another question, Interior Minister said a vehicle mistakenly came in the way of prime minister’s convoy and the person driving the car, after investigation, proved innocent.
