ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister of State for Revenue Hammad Azhar on Friday launched the Taxpayers’ Directory 2017 for Parliamentarians and all taxpayers.
Speaking on the occasion in Islamabad, the minister said objective of launching the tax directory is to increase financial transparency and sharing information with the public that how much the public representatives had been paying taxes to the exchequer.
Azhar said measures are being taken to overcome trade and budget deficit.
Speaking on the occasion, FBR Chairman Jehanzeb Khan said it has been the fifth consecutive year that the Tax Directory for the Parliamentarians and the Tax Payers published by FBR.
He said increasing the number of tax payers and improving the Tax to GDP ratio has been the top most priority of the current government.
There has been a 34% increase in the number of tax filers because of the steps taken by the institution, the FBR chairman added.
