Ufone to launch GSM services in North Waziristan on Saturday

PESHAWAR – Ufone, a Pakistani cellular company, has announced to launch its GSM services in Miranshah and Mir Ali cities of North Waziristan, from March 9.

In an effort to ensure uninterrupted connectivity and communication in North Waziristan, Ufone has all set to launch Phase 1 of its services in the two cities, said a press release issued here on Thursday.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, along with Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed would inaugurate the service. The service would be expanded to other parts of the district later this year.

With the focus to enhance the momentum of teledensity growth in the rural areas of Pakistan, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced the launch of cellular services during his visit to the area in November 2018.
