Khunjerab Pass reopens on Monday as snowfall subsides

GILGIT – Pak-China border via Khunjerab top will re-open for trade and travel from Monday, months after the route was closed due to heavy snowfall.

According to protocol inked between both the countries, the border is closed on 1st December and opened on 1st April every year.

The Khunjerab Pass is the highest paved international border at an altitude of 15,500 feet; a daily bus service runs between the Sost valley of Gilgit-Baltistan and Xinjiang province of China.
