FAISALABAD (Staff Report) – Poverty and society’s lack of interest in reading has forced a novelist of 12 books to earn his livelihood by driving a rickshaw in Faisalabad.
While transporting passengers, Muhammad Fayyaz Mahi narrates stories about different phases of life and introduce them to the novelty of each character in the stories.
Mahi, 45-year-old, lives next to Minister Water and Electricity Abid Sher Ali in a two marla house. He is the writer of 12 novels and 100 dramas.
Though author of Urdu novels, Mahi had to drop out from middle school due to poverty. However, he never gave up his passion for reading that enriched his imagination and made his the author of 12 Urdu novels, three of which have been published thrice.
Within limited finacial resources, Mahi continued to pursue his passion for writing. His thirteenth novel is expected to be published by end of this year.
