NEW DELHI – Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) women wing leader has encouraged “Hindu brothers” to gang rape Muslim women openly in the streets and hang them in bazaars for others to see.
In her hate speech posted on Facebook, BJP leader Sunita Singh Gaur stated that “Muslim mothers and sisters should have their honor looted as there is no other way to protect India”.
On June 27, the district chief of the BJP’s Mahila Morcha Chandraprabha Pandey announced Gaur’s dismissal for “anti-party activities” following her hate speech post on social media against Muslim minority women in India.
Though the post has since been deleted and Gaur was removed from her position but her post went viral on social media and screenshots were also posted on Twitter.
BJP Mahila Morcha National President Vijaya Rahatkar responded to the tweet and said: “Be assured, BJP Mahila Morcha will not tolerate any hateful comments whatsoever from any karyakarta. The lady in question has been expelled even before you tweeted”.

This is not the first time for Muslim minorities’ women in India when BJP leaders targeted them with hate speech online. There have been several instances where members of the BJP party have openly supported the perpetrators of religious violence, showing a blatant disregard for those who have suffered. However, many were shocked to see the leader openly encourage rape and sexual violence.
