ISLAMABAD – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bawaja called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at the PM Office on Thursday.
According to reports in local media, the premier and the top military commander discussed the overall security situation along with the situations in Indian occupied Kashmir and Line of Control.
This is the first meeting between the two top civil-military leaders after PM Khan appointed General Qamar Javed Bajwa Chief of Army Staff for another tenure of three years, in view of the ‘regional security environment’.

Gen Qamar was set to retire on November 29 on completion of his three-year term but now he would continue to serve as head of the army until November 2022.
