Air Chief Marshal unveils six commemorative postage stamps

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman unveiled a set of six commemorative postage stamps on the eve of Defence Day of Pakistan in an august ceremony at Air Headquarters Islamabad on Sunday.

1st stamp portrays the bombing operations by PAF cargo aircraft while Second stamp depicts historic Kalai Kunda strikes by PAF when its five aircraft attacked enemy airfield and destroyed numbers of IAF aircraft.

3rd stamp has highlighted the honour achieved by Squadron Leader Muhammad Mehmood Alam when he shot down five enemy aircrafts in less than a minute and became 1st Ace pilot.

4th stamp is a tribute to the valiant air warrior Squadron Leader Sarfraz Rafiqui (Shaheed) when he along with his team attacked Halwara airfield and embraced Shahadat in this mission.

The 5th stamp displays portrait of the seven gallant warriors of PAF who embraced Shahadat in 1965 war.

The last stamp is the galaxy of the fighter aircraft fleet of Pakistan Air Force which has been in its use since its inception.
