SARGODHA (Staff Report) – A 20-km-long traffic mess has irked commuters at Pindi Bhattian Interchange (Motorway M2), thanks to mismanagement of Motorways authorities.
Talking to Daily Pakistan Global, a stranded passenger Advocate Shoaib Salim said he was going to Sargodha for attending marriage ceremony but has been stuck in the traffic for last three hours.
“No Motorway personnel bothered to ease the traffic.”
Mr Salim blamed Motorway authorities of negligence as they had not informed commuters in advance they are repaiing some portion some portion of Motorway at Pindi Bhattian Interchange.
Another passenger Muhmmad Umer said he was going for delivery of his wife in Sargodha Hospital but traffic blockade has made his life hell on the earth.
“My wife is crying in my car but I can do nothing except to cry with her,” Umer said.
The passengers urged the authorities concerned to take notice of the matter and question the Motorway police regarding this matter.
It should also be made sure that no such incidents take place in the future and motorway authorities inform people in advance in the future.
However, Motorway spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmad Shah said that traffic is slow at Pindi Bhattian Interchange due to Raiwind congregation and construction work. He said traffic would be on Motorway soon.
