Strict security arrangements on Chehlum-e-Imam Hussain

LAHORE (Staff Report) – Strict security arrangements have been made through out the country on the account of Chehlum-e-Imam Hussain (RA) while a ban on pillion riding has also been imposed in all major cities of Sindh, Punjab, KPK and Balochistan.

Mobile networks have also been shut down in sensitive areas of the major cities.

Attendants of processions and Majalis will only be allowed to join after a strict process of checking.

In Lahore, as many as 224 CCTV cameras have been installed which are connected to a central control room to monitor the situation. An additional 8000 police personnel have been deployed in the city who will be further assisted by 500 officers and traffic wardens to maintain smooth flow of traffic.

More than 2000 security officials will perform duties in Peshawar. Special sniper shooters have also been deployed on the rooftops in sensitive areas.

In Karachi 11,753 police officials will perform their duties at 103 Imam Bargahs which are said to be on high risk of violence and terrorist activity. Every procession in the city will be monitored by as many as 8 Senior Superintendents of Police (SSP), 30 SP’s and 87 DSP’s.
