Justice Aminuddin Replaces Justice Munib On Sc Practice And Procedure Committee

ISLAMABAD – After President Asif Ali Zardari signed the Practice and Procedure Ordinance, the implementation of the amended Practice and Procedure Ordinance has begun.

Justice Munib Akhtar is no longer part of the three-member judges committee, and Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa has nominated Justice Aminuddin Khan as a member of the committee.

The Supreme Court Registrar has also issued a notification. Justice Aminuddin Khan is fifth in seniority.

The three-member judges committee reviews the formation of benches and human rights cases.

In addition to the Chief Justice, the three-member judges committee includes the senior-most judge, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah. A meeting of the three-member committee is likely to be called on Monday.

It is worth noting that after the approval from the federal cabinet, President Asif Zardari signed the Practice and Procedure Ordinance, which then came into effect.

According to Subsection 1 of Section 2 of the Practice and Procedure Act, the committee will schedule cases and consist of the Chief Justice, the senior-most judge, and a judge nominated by the Chief Justice.
