NANKANA SAHIB (Web Desk) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate Dr Sahzra Mansab Ali Khan has won the by-poll to NA-137.
According to unofficial reports, Khan bagged 77,890 votes.
The National Assembly seat for Nankana Sahib fell vacant after the demise of PML-N lawmaker Rai Mansab Ali Khan.
Prominent among the other nine candidates were Pakistan People’s Party’s Shahjahan Bhatti and Brig (retired) Ijaz Shah, an independent candidate who enjoyed Pakistan Tehreek-e-INsaf’s support.
The total number of registered voters in the constituency are 287,719. As many as 48 out of the total 256 polling stations were declared ‘sensitive’ by security officials. More than 1,100 policemen were deputed to deal with any unwanted situation.
