Malik, Umar Akmal take Pakistan to a 7-wicket win over UAE

DHAKA (Staff Report) – Pakistan beat United Arab Emirates (UAE) by seven-wicket in the 6th match of Asia Cup 2016 here on Monday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Earlier, UAE captain Amjad Javed won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 129-6 in 20 overs.

In reply, chasing 130 to win, Pakistan lost three early wickets of Muhammad Hafeez, Sharjeel Khan and Khurram Manzoor before the experienced duo Malik and Akmal produced a 114-run partnership to steer their team to victory in 18.4 overs and seven wickets in hand.

Malik struck three 6s and seven 4s in his 63 from 49 balls while Akmal smashed three 6s and two 4s to make 50 from 46 balls.
