ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a plea challenging the death sentence awarded to Muttahid Qaumi Movement (MQM) activist Saulat Mirza.
The petition asked the court to convert Mirza’s death sentence into life imprisonment as one cannot be awarded two sentences for the same crime.
The superior court had reserved the verdict earlier.
The convicted is scheduled to be hanged to death on March 19, in Mach jail.
Mirza was convicted for murdering the managing director of Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) Ashraf Barohi along with his driver in 1997.
