FAISALABAD – South Africa defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in the second match of the three-match ODI series, leveling the series 1–1.
Chasing Pakistan’s target of 270 runs, South Africa comfortably reached 272 for 2 in just 40.1 overs.
In the match played at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first, posting 269 for 9 in 50 overs. Salman Ali Agha scored 69 and Mohammad Nawaz 59 runs.
Pakistan’s top order collapsed early as Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for a duck, while Babar Azam made 11 and Mohammad Rizwan 4. After three quick wickets, Agha Salman and Saim Ayub steadied the innings, both completing half-centuries before falling for 69 and 53, respectively.
In the final overs, Mohammad Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf contributed valuable runs, scoring 59 and 28.
Pakistan had earlier won the first match of the series. The third and deciding ODI will be played on Saturday, November 8, at the same venue.
