RAWALPINDI – In the second match of the tri-nation series, Zimbabwe defeated Sri Lanka by 67 runs.
In the match played at Rawalpindi Stadium, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 95 runs while chasing a target of 163.
For Sri Lanka, Dasun Shanaka top-scored with 34 runs. Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored 11, Kamindu Mendis 9, Wanindu Hasaranga 8, Maheesh Theekshana 8, Kusal Mendis 6, Kusal Perera 4, Dushmantha Chameera 1, Ishaan Malinga 1, and Pathum Nissanka 0.
Nuwan Thushara remained not out with 1 run.
For Zimbabwe, Richard Ngarava and Brad Evans took two wickets each, while Graeme Cremer, Tendai Maposa, Sikandar Raza, and Ryan Burl claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, after being invited to bat first by Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe scored 162 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted overs.
For Zimbabwe, Brian Bennett and captain Sikandar Raza were the standout performers with 49 and 47 runs respectively. Ryan Burl scored 18, Tashinga Musekwa 11, Brendan Taylor 11, Tadiwanashe Marumani 10, Brad Evans 4, and Tony Munyonga 0.
Tendai Maposa and Graeme Cremer remained not out with 5 and 3 runs respectively.
For Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga claimed 3 wickets, while Ishaan Malinga took 2. Dushmantha Chameera and Maheesh Theekshana took one wicket each.
