LAHORE (Web Desk) – Game of Thrones fans were left shattered Sunday night when they found out what happens to Hodor. He carried Bran Stark on his carriage all the way from Winterfell to the cave of three-eyed-raven and then gave Meera and Bran a chance to survive the White Walkers’ attack by “holding the door” and revealing the secret behind his name.
Kristian Nairn, who played Hodor in GoT, spoke no word in the TV show except his name Hodor. However right after his exit, he has shared many fascinating thoughts.

In an interview with makingofgameofthrones.com, Nairn summed up his role as Hodor by saying “he is a better man, he’s not the most intelligent guy, but he can sense when things are important.”
Commenting about the Hodor’s heart wrenching death in “The Door” episode, he said that initially he was not happy with his sudden exit from Game of Thrones but when he read the script, he loved the scene.
“I can’t think of a better way to go, really. He doesn’t give up. He never lets go of that door. For all costs, he’s going to stop them from getting to Bran.” Kristian Nairn went on to say.
He further added that Hodor was more sad about what happened because he would not be able to see his friends again, But at the same time he also knew if he hadn’t held that door, Bran and Meera could have died.
When asked about his experience with fellow actor Isaac Hempstead-Wright, who played Bran Stark in GoT, he said it was just like the relationship between Hodor and Bran. Until they are separated by death, he added.
Responding to a query about his favorite GoT scene, Kristian Nairn said “I want to know what it was like when there was a Targaryen on the throne. Obviously it was a bit crazy. To see how different things were in King’s Landing when the Mad King was there, the time of Robert the Usurper. That whole time is interesting politically.”
And finally he also expressed his affection towards the character Brienne, saying “she’s steady and loyal and she’s also a badass, those are three qualities you’d want as a Hand and I’d definitely choose Brienne,” when asked if he were a king in GoT who would have been his Hand.
