KARACHI: A 17-year-old girl was killed in a tragic traffic accident on the busy Shahrah-e-Faisal road in Karachi after a speeding Karachi University bus collided with a motorcycle.
According to reports, the incident occurred near Awami Markaz, where the fast-moving university bus hit a motorcycle carrying the teenage girl, resulting in her death on the spot.
Rescue officials identified the deceased as 17-year-old Sawera, daughter of June. Her body was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for legal formalities.
Meanwhile, police have taken the bus driver responsible for the accident into custody and seized the vehicle, transferring both to the police station for further investigation.
In a separate incident, a 40-year-old man was killed in a traffic accident near Buraq Pump on Super Highway. His identity could not be immediately ascertained. Rescue officials stated that the deceased was a pedestrian who died after being struck by an unidentified vehicle.
