IT knowledge key to business growth: LCCI President

LAHORE (Web desk) – Private sector must strive to have sufficient knowledge of Information Technology that is the key to business growth in today’s world. Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) would continue to impart training to its members.
LCCI president Ijaz A Mumtaz stated this, while addressing the participants of Web Development Training Course with Search Engine Optimization and 3D MAX & MAYA Skill Course here at the LCCI on Monday. The LCCI President said the Lahore Chamber considers itself duty bound to arrange computer training courses and language classes for its members to enable them to go global with a faster pace.
He said that this year, the LCCI would focus on development of research culture in the country and for this purpose it would be strengthening its research team to provide data to various government departments on various issues being faced by the country’s economy. He said the LCCI was not only regularizing its quarterly research journal Economic Outlook but also give solution to day-to-day business issues. He said that measures were also being taken for the promotion of subject and sector specialists. Ijaz A Mumtaz also urged the government to focus on Information Technology based knowledge as the maximum utilization of the human potential was must for success and a necessary ingredient to make Pakistan a developed country.
He said, in the knowledge race in the 21st century and rapid globalization, the quality of information technology based higher education has to be enhanced to bring it at par with international standards for the sake of progress and prosperity.The LCCI President said that it had now become very important to do all possible to help the next generation as today they were competing with the students from the developed world when they enter into the job market.”Right out of the gate of their alma mater, our students face altogether new challenges, therefore they must be equipped well to cope with these challenges and for the purpose the educational institute ions must continue to review and upgrade their curricula.”He said that education must stay in touch with private sector to get a feedback on upcoming industry requirements regarding new hiring. The curriculum should be designed in proper consultation with the private sector that had both the ability and the capacity to guide the educationists in right direction.He said that in today’s world the Information Technology was of utmost importance, in the job market the people having knowledge of computers are given preference over those who are without it.
