Umer Gul to miss rest of PSL season with arm fracture

DUBAI – A fracture in forearm may lead to Umer Gul’s ouster from Pakistan Super League, sources say, despite no official word from Quetta Gladiators for which the fast bowler plays.

Gul was hit on his forearm while facing a delivery from Wahab Riaz on Saturday during 18th match of PSL second edition in Dubai. Gul was bowled out on the next delivery he faced and didn’t bowl against Peshawar Zalmi.

An X-ray taken after the match shows a fracture in his left forearm, which has, presumably, ruled him out of remaining matches in Pakistan Super League.

Quetta Gladiators have already completed their league matches and now scheduled to play the playoff games after finishing in top four at the end of the league.

There was no official word from the Gladiators management on Umar Gul’s replacement, however, it is unlikely that the team would opt for a replacement as the league is already towards its conclusion.
