Here’s how massively PTI spent during the 2014-sit-in

ISLAMABAD – For the first time, the details of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)’s expenses for its 126-day long dharna in 2014 against the alleged rigging during 2013 General Election surfaced.

According to a private news channel, the PTI spent Rs 293.358 million on the sit-in, adding that the party has termed the protest a public event in financial details submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The PTI had demanded recounting and verification of votes of four constituencies from where Khawaja Saad Rafique, Khawaja Asif, Sardar Ayaz Saqdiq and Sadiq Baloch contested elections.

However, the PTI had ended its marathon sit-in in Islamabad with the party chairman, Imran Khan, stressing the need for unity in the wake of the Peshawar school massacre and urging the government to ‘reciprocate’.
