SHARJAH – Pakistan lost to traditional rival India in a crucial match of the Blind Cricket World Cup at the Ajman Oval, UAE, on Friday.
India won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first at the neutral venue, after the Indian government earlier refused to grant permission to its team to travel to Pakistan over security concerns.
Pakistan are without five players, who could not get visas in time to travel to UAE for the match.

Pakistan, put into bat, scored 282 for the loss of 8 wickets in 40 Overs. Md Jail scored 90 runs in 91 balls before he was retired hurt.
In reply, India scored their runs in 35 overs. They reached their target with five overs to spare. For India, Venkateshwara Rao scored a half century.

Deepak Malik was adjudged Man of the Match. This was Deepak’s second Man of the Match award in as many matches in the tournament
With this win, India top their group, followed by Pakistan.
The Green Shirts lead the points table after registering back-to-back victories against Bangladesh and Nepal.

India, on the other hand, defeated Sri Lanka by six wickets in their second match courtesy Deepak Malik’s unbeaten 179 off 103 balls. The team’s opening game against Australia was called off due to heavy rain.
India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan for the World Cup forced the organisers to shift all their matches to UAE. Pakistan went into the match without five of their players not available for selection as they could not get their visas in time to travel to UAE for the match.
The tournament includes teams from cricket-playing nations such as Australia, England and India. However, only teams from Bangladesh and Nepal have agreed to play in Pakistan for now, while matches with other countries are scheduled to be held in UAE.
The final of the tournament will be held on January 19 in Sharjah.
