Pervaiz Rasheed calls Chaudhry Nisar hypocrite as PML-N leaders lock horns

ISLAMABAD – Former information minister Pervez Rashid on Tuesday lambasted at fellow member of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chaudhry Nisar and accused him of hypocrisy, local media reported.

Talking to media outside the accountability court in Islamabad, he said that Nisar had to face defeat when he took part in an election without the symbol of the lion, an electoral symbol of the PML-N.

He said that former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar in his statement said that he doesn’t seem it fit to respond to a man who is ‘barely in the party’. “You can check the level of his hypocrisy from it,” he added.

A trade of heated words between the PML-N leaders started after Rashid during an interview with a private news channel accused Nisar of supporting elements that wanted him ousted in Dawn Leaks case. He added that Dawn Leaks will expose the former interior minister.

Rasheed denied that he was used as a scapegoat, in response to a question about his ouster from office.

Rasheed urged PML-N to decide Nisar’s fate as soon as possible, adding that his vote is in favour of the former interior minister’s ousting from the party.

Nisar reacts to Pervaiz Rasheed’s statements:

Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar said that he doesn’t seem it fit to respond to a man who is ‘barely in the party’.

“A person who hasn’t contested councillor’s election thinks he ranks highly in the party,” said Nisar.

Nisar while lambasting Rasheed said the senator has spent most part of his life in ’another party’.

“If the Dawn leaks report is made public then the deeds of the person passing statements will be in front of everyone,” said the former interior minister.
